BIS Hyderabad, 25th July 2025: The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Hyderabad Branch Office, in collaboration with the Jeedimetla Industrial Association (JIA), conducted a Sensitisation Programme for Non-Licensee Industries on 25th July 2025 at the JIA Conference Hall, Hyderabad. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of around 60 manufacturers and industry representatives from the region.
The session was graced by Mrs. Sattu Savitha, Joint Director, BIS Hyderabad, who addressed the gathering and elaborated on the importance of adopting Indian Standards in manufacturing processes. She emphasized that compliance with standards not only enhances product quality and safety but also helps in building consumer trust and expanding market access.
Mrs. Savitha provided a comprehensive overview of the BIS Certification and Licensing process, encouraging industries to voluntarily adopt BIS certification to improve competitiveness and contribute to the nation’s quality ecosystem. She highlighted the significance of Quality Control Orders (QCOs) issued by the Government of India and informed participants about upcoming mandatory requirements.
The Joint Director also introduced participants to BIS’s initiatives, such as the BIS Care App, a user-friendly platform for consumers to verify ISI-marked products and lodge complaints, Manak Manthan, a platform for the discussion on Standards, and the Standards Watch Bulletin on the @IndianStandards Youtube Channel, which allows stakeholders to track and participate in the development of Indian Standards.
She concluded by urging industries to commit to quality and standardization for the betterment of industry practices and for building a strong, quality-driven India. The event served as an important platform for industries to engage with BIS, seek clarifications, and understand the path toward certification and compliance with national standards.
