Hyderabad | February 23, 2026: The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Hyderabad Branch Office, conducted a Hallmarking Awareness Programme for Jewellers at BVL complex, Above Red tape Showroom, Moosarambagh X roads, Dilsukhnagar, Hyderabad.
The programme witnessed the participation of 20 jewellers from the local market. A technical session was delivered by Smt. E Prashanthi,BIS HMR, who highlighted the importance of hallmarking in ensuring the purity of gold and silver jewellery. The session covered hallmarking procedures, recent regulatory updates, and the role of jewellers in promoting consumer confidence. The programme featured interactive discussions and a question-and-answer session, during which Smt. Prashanthi from BIS,HMR addressed the doubts and queries raised by the participants.
The participating jewellers appreciated BIS for its efforts in creating awareness and strengthening transparency in the jewellery sector. BIS Hyderabad remains committed to supporting jewellers and ensuring adherence to hallmarking standards for effective consumer protection.
