Las Vegas: US authorities have uncovered an illegal biological laboratory (Secret Bio Lab) allegedly operated by Chinese nationals in Las Vegas, triggering a major public health and national security investigation.

Officials confirmed that specialists from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention examined materials recovered from the site and identified at least 20 potentially infectious agents. These reportedly included HIV, tuberculosis and the most lethal form of malaria. Investigators also discovered a refrigerator marked “Ebola”, raising immediate alarm among response teams.

According to preliminary findings, the facility claimed its purpose was to sell laboratory test kits. However, authorities now say the operation primarily involved importing counterfeit kits from China and reselling them within the United States. Several of the products seized during the raid were found to be improperly labeled and stored, with no valid safety documentation.

Sources familiar with the investigation said the lab was operating without required permits and biosafety approvals. Large quantities of biological samples and testing materials were reportedly kept in ordinary refrigerators and freezers, without proper containment measures. Public health officials described the conditions as highly unsafe and inconsistent with any legitimate medical or research activity. (Secret Bio Lab)

The discovery was made following routine inspections and follow up inquiries that led local law enforcement to the site in Las Vegas. Once inside, authorities immediately secured the premises and called in federal and public health experts to assess the risks. Specialized teams later removed hazardous materials for safe disposal and began tracing the supply chain of the counterfeit kits.

Officials emphasized that there is currently no confirmed evidence of a community outbreak linked to the facility. However, they cautioned that the presence of multiple infectious agents in an unregulated environment posed a serious potential threat. Health agencies are now reviewing records and contacting individuals who may have come into contact with products distributed by the lab.

Investigators are also examining financial trails, shipping records and overseas connections to determine how long the operation had been running and how widely the counterfeit kits were circulated. Criminal charges are expected once the probe is completed.

Authorities said the case highlights growing concerns about illicit biomedical operations and counterfeit medical supplies entering the country. They added that stricter monitoring and inter agency coordination will be stepped up to prevent similar incidents in the future.

This story is developing, and further updates will be provided as more verified information becomes available. (Secret Bio Lab)
