The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) recorded significant action against corruption in 2025, registering an average of one case every two days across the state. According to the annual round-up issued by the bureau, a total of 199 cases were booked during the year, resulting in the arrest of 273 accused persons, including a large number of government employees.

The report highlights that 157 were trap cases, involving the arrest of 224 accused, out of which 176 were government servants caught while accepting or demanding bribes. In addition to trap cases, the bureau also registered 15 Disproportionate Assets cases and 26 cases of criminal misconduct by government officials.

The ACB unearthed properties worth ₹96,13,50,554 in Disproportionate Assets cases alone, confirming the presence of large-scale illegal wealth accumulated by certain officials. In the 158 trap cases where bribe amounts were seized, a total of ₹57,17,500 was recovered, of which ₹35,89,500 was reimbursed directly to complainants.

115 Prosecution Sanctions Obtained

The bureau obtained 115 sanction orders from the government to prosecute accused individuals, enabling the filing of charge sheets in various courts. Surprise checks were conducted at Sub-Registrar offices, RTA check posts, welfare hostels, and multiple government wings to monitor corruption-prone services.

Alongside enforcement, the bureau also focused on capacity building. ACB personnel underwent training in tracing digital financial trails, benami transactions, surveillance techniques, and legal procedures under the Benami Properties Act, 1988.

QR Code Complaint System Launched

To strengthen public access to grievance reporting, Director General Ms. Charu Sinha, IPS, launched a QR Code complaint system to help citizens, especially in remote areas, report corruption directly without intermediaries. The system is aimed at quick, secure, and anonymous reporting.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau also observed Anti-Corruption Week from December 3 to 9, 2025, during which public awareness campaigns, essay competitions, rallies, and distribution of educational material were conducted across districts.
